Insurance Claims & Loss Litigation - Associate

Position Type: Full Time

The Opportunity:

Davis Martindale ‘Accountants with Personality’ is one of the most recognizable accounting firms in Southwestern Ontario. For over 50 years, we have proudly served and responded to the needs of our clients.

We currently have an open position for an individual to join our Insurance Claims & Loss Litigation Team as an Associate.   

Note: This position is not suitable for individuals looking to obtain a CPA designation in the External Audit stream.

Responsibilities:

  • Effectively communicating with insurance adjusters, claimants, and lawyers
  • Gathering and reviewing financial information to support loss claims
  • Accurately preparing loss quantification calculations
  • Preparing detailed written reports for adjusters and lawyers
  • Conducting research and collect statistics from applicable sources
  • Applying current accounting knowledge where necessary
  • Setting priorities in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum college level accounting program
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and oral communication and time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel)
  • The ability to be a responsible team member who works for the benefit of their team
